A Cooper Hewitt Exhibition to Check Out

If you live anywhere near New York City, or are planning a trip there early next year, check out Scraps: Fashion, Textiles, and Creative Reuse at the Cooper Hewitt.

The exhibition explores sustainability in fashion and textiles, something hand knitters are extremely familiar with. It’s especially important in a “fast fashion” culture where garments are often made at rock-bottom prices and meant to be disposed of at the end of a season. So much goes into the process of creating a garment, with many different types of waste created between the growing of the fiber and the final product.

Scraps: Fashion, Textiles, and Creative Reuse runs now through Sunday, April 16, 2017. Tickets are available at the Cooper Hewitt website.
